At the VS home, Paati delighted us with her superpower of cooking up novelties in the kitchen. She’d take a familiar recipe, add an unexpected ingredient, and strike magic! One such invention was her pepper murukku, a delicious savoury snack made of rice flour, salt, butter, and coarsely ground whole pepper. It was so addictive that we’d find ourselves walking into the kitchen throughout the day, reaching for the tall steel dabba Paati had earmarked for it. While we wouldn’t have described this as bingeing 30 years ago, that, in fact, was what we were doing! We hope you find this crunchy, buttery, flavourful snack as irresistible as we did.
