No South Indian kitchen is complete without the spice box, or Anjarai petti as it is called in Tamil. Here, beloved spices and seasoning condiments nestle beside each other - mustard seeds, jeera, pepper, methi, urad dal, channa dal, etc. In short, there’s room for everything a cook might need to garnish an authentic South Indian meal.
To design this piece, we sought inspiration from our Paati’s stately spice box, gifted to her when she married Thatha. It was at the very heart of her kitchen, cherished and used for decades. Here’s hoping that this spice box serves up lovely meals and memories for your family.
